I had the opportunity and pleasure of leading a group towards victory for UCf’s Themed Entertainment Association design competition. Each group had 8 weeks to come up with an attraction following the prompt and specific perimeters. We had to think of everything that an attraction would entail, from story to operations. I couldn’t be more proud of my team.

This competition showed me that I do in fact have the skills of a leader. From day one I met my team and learned their specific strengths and interests. My role as group lead was to push the project and make sure we were getting ahead, either that be by scheduling weekly meetings or by splitting the entire group into subsections so everyone can work on their own thing. Throughout the 8 weeks, my mindset was, “I don’t care if we win, I just want us to be able to present a project that we’re proud of and that we all believe in.” In the end we were able to not only be passionate about our project, but win the overall competition.
